Little RatI didn't want dad to kill the rat. The tiny brown thing that could barely lift its head

I cupped my hand, where the baby rat was once curled, feeling the memory of it's warmth on my palm, feeling it slip little by little, feeling my palm get slowly colder.

'It's just a rat' dad had said.

No, he was wrong, it wasn't just a rat; it was another form of life, barely a week old, the little creatures eyes were still closed! And he was going to do the 'humane' thing and finish it, take its greatest gift away from it.
It had never seen anything, blinded by its tiny eyelids. It will never see the monsters that think they can say when things should

Erm yeah...i edited come and gone but not forgotten so Tim minchin was in it.

Tim Minchin is life. I went all the way from Toronto to Stratford upon Avon UK just to see his show & Matilda... so worth it. I love this portrait... great style. :D
